MW4 DMZ Release Date and Launch Time
Check MW4 DMZ launch dates, platform timing and the difference between full release and early access.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is announced for full release on Friday, 23 October 2026. Eligible digital preorders could enter DMZ from 20 October (PT), three days earlier. No universal full-launch unlock time is stated in the official announcement, and this site has not verified live availability on every platform.
Scope: Launch window scope, checked 23 October 2026. Dates come from official announcements and store listings; live server status was not tested.
The launch rollout at a glance
The campaign and DMZ did not open on the same day. Digital preorders and prepurchases could start the Campaign on 16 October, then DMZ on 20 October. The full game launch followed on 23 October.
The official page gives those dates in Pacific Time and warns that actual play time depends on outages and time-zone differences. A date is not a promise that every storefront releases the mode at the same local clock time.
| Stage | Date | Who it applied to |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign early access | 16 October 2026 (PT) | Digital preorders or prepurchases |
| DMZ early access | 20 October 2026 (PT) | Digital preorders or prepurchases |
| Full launch | 23 October 2026 | MW4 launch platforms |
Platforms and regional timing
The official announcement lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It explicitly rules out PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. DMZ is part of the paid game rather than a separate free client.
PC players have more than one storefront path: the official PC material lists Xbox on PC, Battle.net and Steam. Check the product page for the store you use. The exact unlock time can follow that platform’s own release and regional configuration.
The US/English Steam listing showed 22 October 2026 when checked for this launch package, while the official announcement says 23 October. Without a documented time-zone mapping, the two displays should not be forced into agreement. Treat the date shown in your own library and store as the practical source for your account.
Is DMZ live right now?
The announced release date has arrived, but this site cannot confirm that every region, store and platform has finished opening the mode. The reviewed sources do not include a live service-status feed or a tested account on each platform.
If DMZ is absent after the listed release time, check for a platform update, the installed edition and any regional listing before treating it as a guide problem. The purchase and edition guide explains why a separate DMZ download still requires the paid game.
This is a status limit, not a claim that a region is unavailable. No all-region availability check was performed.
Dates that are easy to confuse
Use the early-access timeline if you are checking the historical preorder window. Use the wipe status page for progression policy, which is a separate question from release timing.
- DMZ early access is not the same date as Campaign early access.
- Early access is not an open beta or a free trial.
- A Steam date display is not automatically the official announcement converted to your time zone.
- A launch date does not establish a wipe schedule or the contents of a Vault Edition bonus.
Common questions
Is the MW4 DMZ release date 22 or 23 October?
The official announcement and the site’s launch scope use 23 October 2026. The US/English Steam listing displayed 22 October when checked. The reviewed material does not explain that difference as a time-zone conversion, so both records are kept separate.
Was DMZ playable before the full launch?
Yes, for eligible digital preorders and prepurchases. The announced DMZ early-access window began on 20 October 2026 (PT) and covered all of DMZ.
