MW4 DMZ Healing: Injuries and Revival

Understand the questions behind MW4 DMZ healing, downed states and revival, with applicable conditions separated from post-deployment MIA recovery.

AT A GLANCE

DMZ separates a downed state, temporary recovery and full healing. A teammate can revive you; a self-revive can get you up when alone. The Tourniquet can bring a downed Operator back without a self-revive, but only to a wounded state, so more medical items are still needed. Medical clinics and hospitals are the supported places to look for supplies. A failed recovery leads toward MIA, which is handled back at the FOB.

Tourniquet, Med Kit and Bandages

The official deep dive describes the Tourniquet as a new survival mechanic. It can heal a downed Operator to a wounded state without using a self-revive, but the warning is explicit: you will not last long afterward and must use more medical items.

IGN’s guide describes a Med Kit as a way to pick yourself back up and Bandages as a temporary health restore. Those descriptions are compatible with a tiered system, but they are not a full numeric table. Do not assume every medical item restores the same amount.

Self-revive versus teammate revival

A self-revive is a personal emergency option. A teammate can revive you without spending that item, which is one of the practical advantages of a squad. The Tourniquet provides another route, but leaves you in a weaker state rather than fully resetting the fight.

For a solo plan, carry a recovery option you can actually use alone and leave enough time to heal before moving. A revive that happens under fire can consume the item and still end the run.

Where medical supplies fit the map

Medical clinics marked in green and hospitals are the supported search areas for Med Kits and Bandages. The official overview also describes hospitals as a source of medical supplies, though stock can be scarce.

The best loot areas guide treats medical supply runs as a distinct resource goal. Do not detour into a hospital just because it is on the map if your bag is full and the extraction timer is tight.

Where healing ends and MIA begins

A downed Operator may be rescued, abandoned or become MIA. Once the deployment is lost, the issue moves from first aid to FOB recovery. Healing items do not recover an already-MIA Operator.

The reviewed packet does not establish exact health values or a complete medical item table. The safe play is to carry a self-revive or equivalent solo recovery tool and enough ordinary healing to survive the route out.

Common questions

What does a Tourniquet do in DMZ?

It can bring a downed Operator back to a wounded state without a self-revive, but further medical items are needed to recover fully.

Does a self-revive work when you are alone?

Self-revive is a supported personal recovery option. A teammate revive is a separate path and may preserve the self-revive for later.
