MW4 DMZ Missions: Objectives and Progression

Find the structure of MW4 DMZ story missions, their prerequisites and the mission guidance relevant to your current objective.

AT A GLANCE

DMZ uses four mission structures: Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, Side Ops and DMZ Orders at the FOB. Story Missions are the narrative-led, tutorial-shaped path and can be chosen as a deployment focus. Dynamic Operations are generated per match, Side Ops are smaller activities in Hajin, and DMZ Orders track FOB objectives. Completing the second Order unlocks the Boss Board.

How Story Missions are selected

At deployment, Story Missions are one of the three focuses alongside Dynamic Operations and Free Roam. Selecting that focus gives the squad a narrative mission rather than an open exploration start.

The reviewed launch sources do not establish a required chain of unlocks between every Story Mission. They do name specific missions and locations: Operation Critical Extraction at Mirae General Hospital, Operation Iron Citadel at Chang-san Air Base, Operation Silent Ledger at Cheongun Village, Operation Shopping Hacks at NuriGO Mall and Operation Grid Assault at The Grid. This page does not claim a complete public mission count.

Prerequisites and completion

For the supported missions, the objective is completed inside the deployment and the player should look for the mission-complete state before leaving. The exact prerequisites for every later mission are not documented in the reviewed packet; the mission tracker is the practical place to check the current objective.

The official overview says Story Missions are built for replayability. It does not specify a universal replay button, a reset schedule or whether every reward can be earned repeatedly. Keep those as open questions instead of promising a farm route.

DMZ Orders at the FOB

Orders are tracked at the FOB and are distinct from a Story Mission or a Dynamic Operation. They provide objectives that support the base’s progression, and the second completed Order is the point at which the Boss Board becomes available.

Use the FOB guide to see how Orders sit beside the Stash, 3D Printer, Gunsmith and Deploy stations.

What is still unresolved

Mission replay rules, exact unlock chains and the full number of Story Missions are not settled by the reviewed sources. A player should not infer a complete campaign route from a list of named locations.

If your next step is a generated objective, use Dynamic Operations. If it is a smaller in-world activity, use Side Ops.

Mission names and locations are retained from the named sources; no missing mission objectives are invented here.

Common questions

Are Story Missions the same as Dynamic Operations?

No. Story Missions are narrative-led and location-specific; Dynamic Operations are generated multi-step objectives for the match.

Can Story Missions be replayed?

The official overview describes them as built for replayability, but this packet does not establish a universal replay menu or reward-reset rule.
